Welcome back to Christian Sports Insider! Ever since the Denver Broncos selected him late in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Tim Tebow has made headlines in the sports world. Tebow is also an outspoken Christian, and I commend him for his willingness to share his faith whenever he has an opportunity. Unfortunately, though, he has not been able to find success in the NFL. He has not played a down in the league since 2015. However, Tim is still pursuing his dream of being a professional athlete; he just decided to change sports. He is currently playing in the New York Mets’ farm system, hoping to one day play baseball in the major leagues. I believe Christians can learn an important lesson from Tebow. It is clear that football was his first love. If he had a choice, I believe he would choose to be a starting quarterback. However, he also wants to be a professional athlete, and he is not afraid to take risks and go outside of his comfort zone to achieve that goal. Similarly, Christians should not be afraid to go outside of their comfort zone as they witness for Christ. It is certainly easier for us to witness to those at our schools or in our neighborhoods. However, if a believer feels called to do so, they should also be willing to go on a church mission trip or even become a missionary. God has a plan for us, and He certainly knows what is best for us! What are your thoughts? Be sure to let me know in the comments or on Twitter!
